We asked Mark Copsey, a partner at Allworths Chartered Accountants, to provide more insights into their practice and success.
What do you identify as being a key factor in your firm’s success?
We have a very stable team who understand our clients and their requirements intimately. Clients know they can call us before making key decisions and we’ll respond accordingly as soon as possible. We also offer a very broad range of services, meaning we can provide day-to-day accounting and tax compliance, as well as many other aspects, including: ‘Virtual CFO’ services, wealth management, estate planning, succession planning, audit and business finance. If our clients encounter an issue, they know we will most likely have the expertise in-house to assist them promptly.
How did you respond to the challenges faced over the last year?
Our number one priority was client communication. Our team worked tirelessly throughout 2020 to make sure clients were kept informed of the regular changes and important deadlines, especially with regards to the cash flow boosts and JobKeeper Payment. From an internal perspective, we quickly and seamlessly transitioned to full-time working from home arrangements for the whole team, which was made possible thanks to our secure cloud-based systems. It was a challenging year for all but overall we hope the impact on our clients and client service was minimal.
What do you prioritize in your client service?
It may sound cliché but always putting clients first and responding to their needs promptly is the key message we constantly instil within our team. Even if it’s just a placeholder call or email saying something is being looked at; we know our clients appreciate being kept in the loop and updated whenever possible. Internally we have a fantastic and collaborative culture, so if any one team member needs help or advice to respond to a matter properly – they know they can get that assistance right away by simply asking a colleague.
How has FirmChecker helped you achieve this success?
Clients may not always feel comfortable letting us know how they feel and FirmChecker has proven itself to be a very accessible and non-threatening tool for them to use, as evidenced by our 100+ reviews to date. Over the years, some reviews have helped point out issues that we’ve needed to work on, whereas – on the whole – the overwhelmingly positive feedback has been a great point of pride for the whole team. The glowing feedback we received in 2020 was especially appreciated, given the extra effort put in by everyone during such a difficult period, and we’re very thankful that our clients felt so well-served and valued through that time.
